Today, House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington announced the successful passage of the Protecting American Energy Production Act (H.R.26). This legislation aims to prevent any federal moratorium on fracking and allows states to maintain control over energy production on state and private land.
"Bolstering all means of American energy production, including fracking, is critical to economic growth and vital to national security - and no one does it better than West Texas," said Chairman Arrington. "We are fortunate to now have a leader in President Trump who values energy independence, but House Republicans must move quickly to ensure his pro-growth, pro-energy policies endure. The Protecting American Energy Production Act helps safeguard President Trump’s America First energy legacy by ensuring no future President has the ability to unilaterally ban the critical production practice of fracking."
The Protecting American Energy Production Act aims to prevent any future President from banning hydraulic fracking through executive order. The legislation was previously passed by the House in 2024.
