Lubbock, TX – Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) has expressed his condolences and paid tribute to two Navy SEALs who lost their lives during a recent operation off the coast of Somalia. One of the fallen warriors was a Texas Tech graduate. In a statement, Arrington said, "I'm heartbroken to learn that we have lost two exceptional warriors, one of which was a Texas Tech graduate, during a recent operation off the coast of Somalia."
Arrington and his wife, Anne, are keeping the friends, family, and teammates of the fallen SEALs in their prayers. The two Navy SEALs who were declared dead after a 10-day search are identified as Navy Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Christopher Chambers and Navy Special Warfare Operator 2nd Class Nathan Gage Ingram. Arrington acknowledged their sacrifice, stating, "Navy Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Christopher Chambers and Navy Special Warfare Operator 2nd Class Nathan Gage Ingram represent the very best of America, and we are undeserving of their selfless sacrifice."
Arrington also expressed gratitude for those who serve their country, saying, "Thank God for the few who raise their right hand and swear to defend our great nation and confront the evils of this world head-on." He concluded his statement by vowing that the memory of the fallen SEALs will never be forgotten.
The loss of these brave Navy SEALs is a reminder of the dangers faced by our military personnel while they protect our nation's interests abroad.
