House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) released a video statement following President Trump's Joint Address to Congress. In his remarks, Arrington drew a sharp contrast between the current administration and its predecessor, emphasizing differences in leadership and policy outcomes.
Arrington criticized the previous administration under President Biden, attributing issues such as "chaos, incompetence, and radical leftist ideology" to Democratic leadership. He highlighted concerns over open borders, increased crime rates, and economic challenges stemming from what he described as "out-of-control spending."
According to Arrington, President Trump's early days in office have already marked significant changes. He noted that illegal border crossings were at their lowest recorded levels and praised domestic investments by companies like Honda and semiconductor manufacturers choosing to produce in the U.S.
He emphasized the administration's focus on traditional values by stating, "We have two genders, one language," while criticizing policies like the Green New Deal. Arrington also mentioned efforts to reduce government spending and increase military support.
House Republicans are advancing Trump's agenda through measures like passing the House budget resolution aimed at enhancing national safety and prosperity. Despite acknowledging achievements so far, Arrington indicated that reversing what he sees as negative impacts from previous policies remains a priority for Trump and Republican leaders.
In closing his statement, Arrington expressed optimism about America's future under current leadership: "God bless, Go West Texas, and let's Make America Great Again."
