President Trump has announced the creation of a new entity, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), aimed at eliminating wasteful spending across federal agencies. The department will be led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, with its initial task being a comprehensive audit of the entire federal government.

Chairman Arrington expressed his support for this initiative: “This country desperately needs bold leadership to restore fiscal sanity in our nation’s capital and reverse the curse of a looming debt crisis.” He added, "I'm thrilled by President Trump’s decision to appoint Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the desperately needed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and look forward to working with them to right-size the bloated bureaucracy and rein-in wasteful Washington spending."

Arrington emphasized the importance of fiscal responsibility, highlighting that Republicans must address inflation and nearly $36 trillion in unsustainable debt. He noted that he was the first sitting Member of Congress to endorse Trump's commission publicly. The House Budget Committee has been actively working towards improving transparency and accountability in Washington's budget process.

The DOGE is expected to uncover areas of waste, fraud, and abuse within government spending.
