Recently, the Peter G. Peterson Foundation published a report indicating that voters in swing states are significantly concerned about the rising national debt as a critical campaign issue. The report reveals that over 90 percent of voters in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin believe it is essential for presidential candidates to present a plan to address the national debt.

House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington expressed his concerns regarding the current fiscal trajectory of the United States. "The numbers don’t lie - the American people are concerned about our country’s unsustainable fiscal path, and rightfully so," he stated. Arrington criticized record deficit spending for devaluing the dollar and weakening the economy. He urged action to curb government spending and restore fiscal balance before it leads to a crisis.

The poll was conducted by the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, which aims to raise awareness about key fiscal challenges facing America and promote actions to address them.

For further details on Chairman Arrington's statement on how the Biden-Harris Administration increased the deficit to $1.8 trillion in FY24 or information on consumer confidence decline and rising interest payments under Biden and Harris, readers can access additional resources provided by the foundation.
