In simple terms, a transfer station is an enclosed, waypoint structure at which City Trash Collection Trucks can empty their loads. We can then consolidate several loads and make less trips to the City Landfill, which is located in Abernathy.
It costs a great deal of time and money for just one of our trucks to make one trip. Multiply that by the number of trucks we have in our fleet, and you begin to understand why we need a transfer station.
