House Budget Committee Chairman Jodey Arrington has formally requested an analysis from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) on Medicaid spending for illegal aliens under the Biden-Harris Administration. In a letter addressed to CBO Director Phillip Swagel, Arrington asked for data on Medicaid expenditures related to emergency services for illegal aliens from Fiscal Year 2017 to Fiscal Year 2023.

Arrington's request aims to provide American taxpayers with a clearer understanding of the financial impact of what he describes as Vice President Kamala Harris’s "open border" policy. He stated that while illegal aliens are generally ineligible for most federal benefits, including Medicaid, they can still access emergency services funded by taxpayers.

“Chairman Arrington seeks to highlight the fiscal and human cost of the border crisis,” reads part of the press release. According to Arrington, the surge of 8.1 million crossings under the current administration has contributed significantly to the national debt, which now stands at $35 trillion, and has exacerbated issues such as violent crime and fentanyl overdoses.

The House Budget Committee Republicans aim to fully understand how this increase in migration affects federal health care programs like Medicaid. They emphasize that these programs should be preserved for vulnerable American citizens.
