House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) issued a statement following the House passage of H.R. 9106, the Enhanced Presidential Security Act.

"Following two attempted assassination attempts on President Trump, the shocking revelations of flawed security and personnel standards at the Secret Service, and repeated denials of protection for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and additional protection for President Trump, it is clear that we must do more to protect our candidates from political violence," said Arrington.

He further explained that "the Enhanced Presidential Security Act will require the Director of USSS to apply the same standards for determining the number of agents required to protect major Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates as they do for Presidents and Vice Presidents."
