Arrington calls for US sanctions on ICC officials after Netanyahu arrest warrant

Washington, D.C. – Following the International Criminal Court's (ICC) announcement of a warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s arrest, Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) has called for immediate U.S. sanctions against ICC officials.

“The International Criminal Court has no legitimate authority to infringe on the sovereign right of a democratic country to defend itself against terrorist attacks,” said Arrington. “The United States must stand up for Israel’s inherent right of self-defense and immediately sanction ICC officials.”

Earlier this month, Chairman Arrington led his colleagues in criticizing the ICC’s reported decision to issue warrants against Israeli officials, urging the Biden administration to impose sanctions should the court proceed with the warrants.
