House Budget Committee Chairman Jodey Arrington has expressed support for President Donald Trump's recent actions concerning emergency designations under the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023. In a statement, Arrington criticized Congress's use of "emergency" designations, which he claims are used to increase spending without transparency.
"Congress often uses ‘emergency’ designations to shell out more money than needed, hiding the reality of increased spending from the American people," said Arrington. He commended Trump for challenging this practice and for reducing what he described as wasteful spending.
Arrington also highlighted efforts by House Republicans to pass a budget resolution aimed at cutting spending significantly. "House Republicans did the same by passing a fiscally responsible, pro-growth budget resolution that will reduce spending by hundreds of billions of dollars a year," he stated. He urged Senate members to approve the "One Big Beautiful Bill," which has been endorsed by Trump and passed in the House.
