Washington, D.C. – Chairman Arrington of Texas reiterated his dedication to advocating for farmers and ranchers during National Agriculture Week. In a statement, Arrington emphasized the importance of representing West Texas, known as the "Food, Fuel, and Fiber Capital of the World."

Arrington highlighted various initiatives he has undertaken to support the agricultural community, stating, “I am proud of the results we’ve delivered, but there is still more work to be done. I am as committed as ever to continuing the fight for our God-fearing, freedom-loving farmers and ranchers as we secure a more prosperous future for rural America.”

One of the significant actions taken by Chairman Arrington includes designating the I-27 “Ports-to-Plains” corridor, aiming to expand the reach of West Texas agricultural exports. This initiative is projected to have a substantial economic impact, with estimates suggesting a significant boost to Texas's Gross Domestic Product and the creation of numerous job opportunities.

Additionally, Arrington has been actively involved in policy changes such as repealing environmental regulations, restoring cotton to the Farm Bill, and advocating for fair trade deals for U.S. producers and manufacturers. He has also fought for additional resources for West Texas ranchers impacted by wildfires and opposed regulations that would burden farmers and ranchers with tracking greenhouse gas emissions.

Furthermore, Arrington has been a vocal supporter of disaster relief efforts for farmers facing various challenges, including drought conditions, input costs, supply chain disruptions, and labor shortages. His efforts in promoting policies for agriculture and rural America were recognized when he received the American Farm Bureau’s Golden Plow Award, an accolade bestowed upon only one Member of Congress annually for their contributions to the sector.
