WASHINGTON, DC – On May 11, Rep. Jodey Arrington (TX-19) released the following statement following the lifting of Title 42, a Trump era emergency power in response to the Covid-19 pandemic that allows Customs and Border Protection to immediately reject entry of any individual attempting to illegally enter our country.

“Biden doesn’t need more emergency powers to abuse. He has all the authority he needs, but – unfortunately – none of the political will.

“Section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act gives the President unilateral authority to ‘suspend the entry of any alien or any group of aliens for any reason and for any period of time.'

“Biden could have done this months ago, and he could do this tomorrow. The failure he and his administration are orchestrating at our southern border is a choice, and Americans will continue to suffer as a result.”
