LUBBOCK - Vera Bradley joined forces with local non-profit Open Door Lubbock to shine more awareness on sex trafficking.
The fashion design company donated 10 percent of their proceeds to Open Door from Jan. 24 to Jan. 26 for the community center to continue its mission to shelter all residents in need, including sex trafficking survivors.
Proceeds additionally were given to other non-profit groups One Voice Home and Voice of Hope Raising Awareness.
As initially reported by Everything Lubbock, Open Door Executive Director Jamie Wheeler appeared on KLBK-TV on Jan. 24 to announce the partnership and inform the Lubbock community of how they can provide assistance.
“If you got to shop…you might as well come and shop [at Vera Bradley] and also for a good cause,” Wheeler said.
Open Door offers 20 units of transitional housing for trafficking survivors and their children.
