Ray Dalio, the founder of Bridgewater Associates, is scheduled to meet with Republican members of Congress today. The meeting will be led by Chairman Jodey Arrington from Texas. The discussion will focus on Dalio's research regarding debt crises and the implications of the United States' $36 trillion national debt.

Chairman Arrington emphasized the importance of engaging with experts like Dalio, stating, "Ray Dalio’s deep understanding of financial markets and the risks of unsustainable national debt will provide invaluable insight for House Budget Committee members and the Conference as a whole." He added that it is crucial for Congress to seek guidance from experienced thought leaders in order to address fiscal challenges effectively.

Dalio highlighted the current economic situation by saying, “We are at a precarious time in what I call the Big Cycle, where there is a confluence of major forces playing out in a way that is similar to many times in history. One of those major forces is our county's growing debt burden which threatens our financial stability.” He expressed his appreciation for being invited by Chairman Arrington to share his insights during this critical period.

Dalio has been a global macro investor for over 50 years and founded Bridgewater Associates, which became one of the largest hedge funds globally under his leadership. He continues to contribute as an investor and mentor at Bridgewater while serving on its board. As an author, he has written several bestsellers about economic principles and has an upcoming book titled "How Countries Go Broke: The Big Cycle."

Dalio holds degrees from C.W. Post College and Harvard Business School. Married for 46 years with three sons and seven grandchildren, he remains active in philanthropy.
