Budget Committee Chairman Jodey Arrington, alongside U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson and other key Republican leaders, have urged the Senate to advance the House Budget Resolution. This resolution is endorsed by former President Trump and aims to fund the government through the fiscal year.
The group emphasized their commitment to delivering what they describe as President Trump's "full America First agenda." Their statement outlines goals such as securing borders, maintaining low taxes for families and businesses, fostering economic growth, restoring American energy dominance, ensuring peace through strength, and enhancing government efficiency and accountability.
"House Republicans took the lead and passed a bill to fund the government through the end of the fiscal year," they stated. They expressed a strong desire for the Senate to align with their objectives. "We took the first step to accomplish that by passing a budget resolution weeks ago," they added.
The House leadership sees this as an opportunity to enact significant legislation. "This is our opportunity to deliver what will be one of the most consequential pieces of legislation in the history of our nation," they declared.
The call for action comes with an appeal for collaboration with Senate colleagues upon their return to Washington. The GOP leaders stress that there is a mandate from the American people that must be acted upon swiftly.
