House Budget Committee Chairman Jodey Arrington (R-Texas) addressed the House Rules Committee, advocating for the House Republican budget framework. The proposed resolution aims to fulfill President Trump's America-First agenda through a comprehensive bill. If approved by the House Rules Committee, it will advance to a House Floor vote, initiating the reconciliation process.

Arrington emphasized the need to reverse what he described as "failed policies" of recent years and restore economic stability. He stated that "skyrocketing prices pummeled the bottom line of American businesses," impacting family budgets.

The resolution seeks to provide relief for families, stimulate economic recovery, and restore fiscal health by addressing taxes, spending, and regulations. It also focuses on border security and military strength, aligning with President Trump's call for a unified approach to his agenda.

Arrington outlined objectives such as reversing spending trends from the Biden administration, maintaining tax cuts for families and small businesses, increasing domestic energy production, reducing regulatory burdens on job creators, and eliminating government waste.

He argued that this process is about reconciling differences between public expectations and government actions. The budget committee passed the resolution unanimously among its 21 Republican members in record time.

Arrington concluded by urging support from his colleagues for what he considers one of modern history's most significant legislative efforts.
