House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington has introduced a resolution condemning Vice President Kamala Harris for her energy policies, which he claims would increase the national debt and undermine energy independence. According to Arrington, "Issuing 250 anti-energy executive orders, the Biden-Harris Administration led a whole-of-government attack on the oil and gas industry - an industry that employs 10 million people and accounts for almost 10 percent of our total economy - which have resulted in higher gas prices, a weaker economy, and more dependence on foreign sources of fuel." He further warned that "a Kamala Harris presidency would be much worse."

Arrington's resolution highlights several points regarding Harris's past support for environmental initiatives. As a senator, she was an original cosponsor of the Green New Deal, which is projected to cost $93 trillion over ten years. The resolution also notes her support for banning fracking and mandating electric vehicles.

Ryan Walker from Heritage Action echoed Arrington’s concerns: “From day one, the Biden–Harris administration has been obsessed with banning gas stoves, gas cars, and other sources of clean, affordable energy—no matter the cost for families.” He urged conservatives to continue opposing what he termed as Harris's "climate alarmist agenda."

The background provided in the resolution outlines potential impacts of Harris's policies if implemented. These include significant costs to taxpayers and increased reliance on imports from China due to mandates like the proposed ban on combustion-engine vehicles by 2035.
