Enrollment at Lubbock-Cooper ISD schools increased by 2.1% compared to previous school year

There were 7,750 students enrolled in Lubbock-Cooper ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 2.1% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.3% of them were boys, and 49.7% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 53.1% of the Lubbock-Cooper ISD total enrollment.

Lubbock-Cooper ISD roughly covers schools within Lubbock County with its main office in Lubbock.

Among the 10 schools in Lubbock-Cooper ISD, Lubbock-Cooper High School recorded the highest enrollment of 2,117 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
