There were 757 students enrolled in New Deal ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 4.4% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.2% of them were girls, and 49.8% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 52.4% of the New Deal ISD total enrollment.

New Deal ISD roughly covers schools within Lubbock County with its main office in New Deal.

Among the four schools in New Deal ISD, New Deal Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 275 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
