Arrington criticizes Senate's failure to pass border security bill

Washington, D.C. – After the Senate failed to pass its “border security” legislation, which would accept 1.8 million illegal immigrants a year, codify catch and release, expand Mayorkas’ parole authority, and empower human trafficking, Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) issued the following statement:

“The Senate’s self-proclaimed ‘toughest border security measures’ bill is all show and no go."

Arrington emphasized that the House had already passed what he described as the toughest border security measures ever through H.R. 2 a year ago. He noted that this bill remains untouched on Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s desk.

“If he’s serious about border security, pass H.R. 2,” Arrington stated.

He further urged the Biden administration to cease its legal actions against border states like Texas that are attempting to secure their borders and protect their citizens.
