House Budget Committee Chairman Jodey Arrington (R-TX) recently addressed the looming insolvency of Social Security and Medicare, along with the upcoming hearing on the cost of the border crisis in an interview with Fox Business's Cavuto: Coast to Coast.

During his discussion, Chairman Arrington expressed concerns about the excessive government spending, particularly related to the border crisis, stating, "We're having a hearing tomorrow on the cost of the border chaos. It's $150 billion in healthcare cost, education cost, and criminal justice cost."

He emphasized the need to address the unsustainable debt and the insolvency of crucial safety nets for seniors, highlighting that mandatory spending programs like entitlements account for 80 percent of the budget in the next decade. Chairman Arrington proposed common-sense solutions such as welfare reforms and work requirements to tackle the waste in these programs.

Regarding the national debt, Chairman Arrington suggested that modest economic growth could significantly reduce the deficit, but stressed the importance of mandatory spending reforms and controlling expenditures. He emphasized the potential for economic growth to outpace borrowing, leading to improved debt-to-GDP ratios.

In light of these discussions, it is evident that Chairman Arrington advocates for fiscal responsibility and strategic economic growth to address the challenges facing entitlement programs and the national debt.
