Washington, D.C. – Congressman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) has strongly criticized the Biden administration following the arrest of a Haitian migrant for the rape of a 15-year-old disabled girl in Massachusetts. Arrington stated, "After being flown directly to JFK airport from Haiti by the Biden administration, this migrant was arrested for raping a 15 year old disabled girl at a ‘migrant hotel’ in Massachusetts." He further added, "Biden and Mayorkas are complicit because they intentionally opened the border and refuse to enforce our laws."
The accused, Cory Alvarez, entered the United States through the Biden administration's CHNV parole program, which is designed for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans with sponsors in the U.S. Alvarez's arrest for the heinous crime has raised concerns about the effectiveness of the vetting process under this program.
In a related development, Secretary of Homeland Security Mayorkas recently lauded the CHNV program as a "key element" of the Biden administration's border strategy. The incident involving Cory Alvarez has now sparked a fresh debate on the administration's immigration policies and border security measures.
