Texas Tech women’s golf finishes 11th at Huntington Bank Collegiate in Dallas

Texas Tech finished in 11th place at the Huntington Bank Collegiate, which concluded on April 7 at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas. The event was hosted by Southern Methodist University and saw the Red Raiders improve their position throughout the tournament.

The team started in 17th after the first round but climbed to 13th after two rounds and ultimately closed out in 11th with a total score of 20-over-par (884). After an opening round of 16-over, Texas Tech posted an even-par second round and finished with a four-over final round.

Maja Ambroziak led Texas Tech individually, tying for 26th place with a score of one-over-par (217) over three rounds. Cameron Freund recorded the team’s lowest single-round score of the week with a three-under-par (69), matching her career best and moving up to tie for 44th overall. Denisa Vodickova, who recently won her first collegiate event and was named Big 12 Golfer of the Week, shot even par on Tuesday to finish tied for 50th.

Other contributors included Klara Hurtova, who tied for 62nd place at eight-over-par (224), and Danique Stokmans, who finished in 87th place. Oklahoma State won the team title with a combined score of twenty-five under par.

Texas Tech is scheduled to compete next at the Big 12 Championship from April 23-25 at Dallas Athletic Club.
