There were 438 Asian students enrolled in Lubbock ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 3.5% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Lubbock ISD schools welcomed 25,247 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Asian students comprised 1.7% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Lubbock ISD roughly covers schools within Lubbock County and has a main office in Lubbock.

Among the 47 schools in Lubbock ISD schools, Lubbock High School recorded the highest enrollment of Asian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 130 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
