There were 15,160 Hispanic students enrolled in Lubbock ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 1.6% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Lubbock ISD schools welcomed 25,247 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 60% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Lubbock ISD roughly covers schools within Lubbock County and has a main office in Lubbock.

Among the 47 schools in Lubbock ISD schools, Monterey High School recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 1,359 students.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
