Tahoka ISD Education: 595 students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 595 students enrolled in Tahoka ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0.5% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.3% of them were boys, and 47.7% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 58.5% of the Tahoka ISD total enrollment.

Tahoka ISD roughly covers schools within Lynn County with its main office in Tahoka.

Among the three schools in Tahoka ISD, Tahoka Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 298 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
