Washington, D.C. – Today, House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) voiced his support for H.R. 4639 – the Fourth Amendment Is Not For Sale Act, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding citizens' rights in the digital age.
In a statement, Arrington highlighted the significance of upholding the Fourth Amendment, stating, "The Bill of Rights is clear and affords our citizens protection against unreasonable search and seizure." He expressed concern over federal agencies like the FBI circumventing constitutional protections by acquiring sensitive personal information from data brokers for mass surveillance purposes.
Asserting his commitment to defending civil liberties, Arrington declared, “I’m proud to support my friend and colleague Warren Davidson in our fight to secure our liberty, end these warrantless searches of Americans, and protect their sacred Fourth Amendment right.”
