Washington, D.C. – Today, Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) urged the Senate to conduct a comprehensive impeachment trial regarding Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
Arrington emphasized the importance of allowing the process to unfold, stating, "Chuck Schumer and the Senate Democrats must let this process play out. The American people deserve to hear the facts, they deserve a full and complete impeachment trial, and Secretary Mayorkas needs to be held accountable."
Highlighting the concerns that led to the Articles of Impeachment, Arrington pointed out, "House Impeachment Managers have delivered the Articles of Impeachment of Secretary Mayorkas to the United States Senate. Remember, Secretary Mayorkas has breached the public's trust by continuously refusing to enforce the laws of the land and by failing to uphold the critical security mission of the Department of Homeland Security."
Regarding the implications of Mayorkas' actions, Arrington expressed, "As a result, he has surrendered control of our border to narco-terrorist drug cartels, and he's opened up the floodgate for criminals, crimes, and drugs to pour into this country, endangering every American citizen, not only along the border, but throughout our great nation."
In conclusion, Arrington extended his sentiments with a patriotic message, saying, "God bless America and go West Texas."
