Washington, D.C. – Congressman Jodey Arrington, along with Congressman August Pfluger and Tracey Mann, have taken a stand against the Biden administration's EPA regulations targeting oil and gas producers. Arrington expressed his concerns, stating, “Since his first day in office, Biden has unleashed a whole-of-government assault on domestic energy production, the lifeblood of our economy and cornerstone of our national security.”

Rep. Pfluger echoed these sentiments, saying, “One of the only promises President Biden has followed through on is his campaign vow to ‘end fossil fuels.’ This Methane Rule imposes excessive and costly restrictions on energy producers in regions like the Permian Basin that I represent and others around the Nation.”

Rep. Mann highlighted the impact of these regulations on Americans, stating, “Americans are paying for President Biden’s failed energy policies. This rule will crush energy producers and consumers alike."

President of the Permian Basin Petroleum Association, Ben Shepperd, commended the efforts of Chairman Arrington and other members of Congress for taking steps to reverse the damage caused by the administration's regulations. Shepperd criticized the Methane Rule, stating, “The Methane Rule is very poorly crafted and will have no environmental benefit while adding in the never-ending inflationary pressures."

Jeff Eshelman, President and CEO of the Independent Petroleum Association of America, expressed support for the use of the Congressional Review Act to address the regulations, stating, “EPA developed regulations that would shut down 300,000 small oil and natural gas wells. There are few options left to try to bring some reality into this process."

The resolution in the House is cosponsored by several Representatives, including Mike Collins, Chip Roy, and Lauren Boebert. A companion resolution is also being introduced in the Senate by Senator Roger Marshall and Senator Steve Daines.
