There were 15 African American students enrolled in Elementary School for Education Innovation District in the 2021-22 school year, 50% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Elementary School for Education Innovation District welcomed 185 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 8.1% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Elementary School for Education Innovation District roughly covers schools within Lubbock County and has a main office in Lubbock.

Elementary for Education Innovation was the only school in the district which enrolled African American students, welcoming 15 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
