There were 1,114 students enrolled in Roosevelt ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 9.9% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 51.5% of them were boys, and 48.5% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 57.9% of the Roosevelt ISD total enrollment.

Roosevelt ISD roughly covers schools within Lubbock County with its main office in Lubbock.

Among the three schools in Roosevelt ISD, Roosevelt Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 489 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
