71 percent of applicants to Texas Tech University were admitted for fall 2018

At Texas Tech University, 91 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 53 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Lubbock enrolled 38,209 students in fall 2018, including 31,957 in undergraduate and 6,252 in graduate programs, data shows. 8.1 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

92 percent of undergraduates are residents of Texas, and 6 percent are residents of other states. 2 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (54 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (30 percent).

The school admitted 71 percent of the 24,452 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 36 percent enrolled.
