Jodey Arrington, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 19th district, shared a series of tweets addressing significant topics related to college sports and legislative accomplishments. Arrington has been a congressional representative since 2017, succeeding Randy Neugebauer.
On July 9, 2025, Arrington expressed his concern about the future of college sports. He stated that “College sports is such an integral part of the American experience.” Emphasizing the importance of preserving this tradition, he mentioned his friend and fellow Red Raider, Cody Campbell’s mission to save it. Arrington underscored that without timely action, college sports could be lost forever as they are known today. He described this effort as a “bipartisan endeavor” with potential for lasting impact.
The following day, on July 10, 2025, Arrington tweeted about a productive roundtable discussion held in Lubbock regarding achievements in what he referred to as the “One Big Beautiful Bill” for West Texas. He highlighted key victories including “tax relief for working families“, strengthening agricultural safety nets for producers, deregulating the energy economy, and securing funding for detention facilities.
Later on July 10, Arrington referenced an article by the Texas Tribune noting his role in recent budget negotiations. He shared a link stating: “The House budget chair and lead sponsor of the GOP tax and spending bill recounts the months of negotiations needed to unite the fractious caucus.”
Jodey Arrington was born in Plainview, Texas in 1972 and resides in Lubbock. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a BA in 1994.
