Rep. Jodey Arrington, a U.S. Congressman from Texas, recently posted several statements on social media criticizing current federal policies and state actions regarding energy and immigration.
On September 4, 2025, Arrington commented on the Biden administration’s approach to energy policy. He wrote, “President Biden’s whole-of-government assault on American energy – the lifeblood of our economy – weakened our national security, increased prices on consumers, and made our nation more dependent on foreign adversaries. From canceling pipelines to blocking leasing on federal” (September 4, 2025).
Shortly after, Arrington addressed the issue of driver’s licenses for undocumented immigrants in certain states. In one post he stated: “ICYMI: Arrington Fights to Stop Radical-Left States from Issuing Driver’s Licenses to Illegal Aliens” (September 4, 2025). In another message posted minutes later, he expanded his criticism: “Far-Left Sanctuary States that issue driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants are not only breaking the laws of our land, they endanger families and law-abiding Americans who take to highways every day in our country – these lawless states must be stopped! My Stop Greenlighting” (September 4, 2025).
Jodey Arrington has maintained a strong electoral presence in Texas since first winning office in 2016. He secured victories over various opponents in multiple election cycles—most recently defeating Nathan Lewis with over 80% of the vote in both the 2022 and 2024 general elections. These results reflect continued support within his district.
Arrington’s recent posts highlight ongoing debates about federal energy policy under President Biden as well as controversies surrounding state-level decisions to grant driving privileges to undocumented immigrants.
