The No. 11-seeded Texas Tech Red Raiders will host their second consecutive NCAA Regional this weekend, starting with a game against Marist at 3:30 p.m. on May 15.

The regional event is significant for the Red Raiders as it reflects their continued strong performance and recognition in collegiate softball. Fans attending the games can participate in a tailgate hosted by the Red Raider Club and sponsored by the Sellers Family, which will provide free food, drinks, giveaways, and inflatables beginning at 1 p.m. each day through the end of Texas Tech’s game.

Key players have made notable contributions this season. Mihyia Davis leads all active players nationally in hits (336), at-bats (829), and stolen bases (136). She also ranks third among active players in runs scored (233) and games played (246), making her the only current player with over 300 hits. NiJaree Canady recently surpassed 1,000 career strikeouts and remains one of just two active players to achieve that milestone; she is also the only one with both over 1,000 strikeouts and at least 97 wins. Kaitlyn “KT” Terry has posted a .471 batting average—sixth best in the country—and holds a record-setting hit streak for her team.

The team brings extensive postseason experience into this regional tournament, having played more than 100 NCAA Tournament games collectively. Jasmyn Burns has contributed four home runs over four recent games and now bats above .360 with seventeen home runs this season.

Texas Tech had seven All-Big 12 selections this year—tied for most alongside Arizona—including Coach Gerry Glasco being named Coach of the Year for a second straight season. NiJaree Canady was named Co-Pitcher of the Year again; she joins Kaitlyn Terry, Mia Williams, Jackie Lis on First Team honors while Taylor Pannell, Jasmyn Burns, and Mihyia Davis were selected to Second Team honors.

Games are scheduled throughout May 15-17: Texas Tech faces Marist after Ole Miss plays Boston University on Friday; subsequent winners and losers face off Saturday; finals take place Sunday afternoon.
