Rep. Jodey Arrington, U.S. Congressman for Texas’s 19th district, recently addressed topics ranging from service academy nominations to election integrity and nondiscrimination in agricultural disaster relief through a series of posts on his social media account.

On August 11, 2025, Arrington encouraged constituents to consider applying for a U.S. Service Academy nomination: “Are you or someone you know interested in attending a U.S. Service Academy? The deadline to apply for a Congressional Nomination is October 31st. Visit my website https://t.co/dsCg8sGPq1 or contact my Lubbock or Abilene office at (806) 763-1611 and (325) 675-9779 for more https://t.co/rGOCOokWoA”.

Later that day, Arrington commented on recent developments regarding voter identification laws in Texas: “Election integrity is a cornerstone of representative democracy. The Fifth Circuit’s decision to uphold commonsense voter ID requirements will ensure Texas has secure, transparent, and fair elections – a model for the entire country. https://t.co/n54mreBBm3” (August 11, 2025).

On August 12, he addressed fairness in government disaster programs for farmers: “Disasters don’t discriminate against farmers based on their race or gender and neither should our government programs. Read this @DailyCaller article to learn how I’m ensuring future administrations never discriminate in critical farm program funding. https://t.co/aYlMx61nCQ”.

Arrington has represented Texas’s 19th congressional district since winning his first general election in 2016 with over 86% of the vote against Troy Bonar. He continued to secure re-election by wide margins in subsequent races—defeating Miguel Levario in 2018 with over three-quarters of the vote; Tom Watson in 2020 with nearly three-quarters; Nathan Lewis in both the 2022 and most recent 2024 elections by similarly large margins.
