Rep. Jodey Arrington, U.S. Congressman representing Texas’s 19th district, recently posted a series of statements on social media regarding federal land policy and rural investment initiatives. The tweets focused on the cancellation of a proposed expansion of the Muleshoe National Wildlife Refuge and highlighted legislative efforts aimed at supporting rural communities.

On August 19, 2025, Arrington wrote: “Just weeks after rescinding Biden’s radical Green New Deal proposal to expand the Muleshoe Wildlife Refuge by over 10,000%, we’re back in Bailey County discussing the importance of standing up for Rural America against federal overreach.

I vehemently opposed this federal land https://t.co/suID3w1hEw”

The following day, he visited the refuge and commented further: “Had to stop by the Muleshoe National Wildlife Refuge to celebrate the Fish & Wildlife Service’s decision to cancel Biden’s ridiculous land grab that would have expanded the refuge by more than 10,000%.

I was proud to lead the fight in Congress – introducing the No FED in West https://t.co/bhPVdhQCk2″ (August 20, 2025).

In another post from August 20, Arrington shifted focus to local economic issues: “Good morning from Bulldog nation! Started the day off right with friends in Lynn County discussing the One Big Beautiful Bill and the benefits they can expect to see from it – historic tax relief, unprecedented ag investment, strengthening of rural health care, and more! https://t.co/3BVbcUblQ3”

Arrington has consistently secured re-election since first winning his seat in 2016. In recent elections, he defeated Nathan Lewis in both 2024 and 2022 with over 80% of the vote each time. Previous victories include defeating Tom Watson in 2020 with nearly three-quarters of ballots cast and Miguel Levario in 2018 with a similar margin.

These posts underscore Arrington’s ongoing opposition to what he describes as federal overreach into rural Texas lands and his advocacy for policies benefiting agricultural communities.
