Jodey Arrington, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 19th district since 2017, shared several statements on social media addressing key legislative and political issues. Arrington has been active in discussing policies related to national defense, tax reforms, government spending, and the differing agendas of political parties.
On May 22, 2025, Arrington posted about a legislative proposal called “The One Big Beautiful Bill Act.” He described it as “the greatest single investment in border security and national defense, the largest tax cuts for families and small businesses, the most significant commitment to unlocking America’s energy resources and the largest reduction in spending.”
Later that day, he addressed fiscal responsibility and immigration policy. He expressed his stance by stating: “I don’t think it’s a scam to prevent a 22% tax hike on average Americans… I don’t think it’s a scam to steward tax dollars and root out waste, fraud, and abuse across the people’s government… I don’t think it’s a scam to prohibit people who are not citizens of our country from.”
In another tweet from May 22nd, Arrington contrasted Republican goals with those of Democrats. He asserted that “Republicans want to usher in the Golden Age of America,” inviting readers to consider what he views as Democratic objectives.
Jodey Arrington was born in Plainview, Texas in 1972. At age 51, he resides in Lubbock. An alumnus of Texas Tech University with a BA earned in 1994, Arrington succeeded Randy Neugebauer as the congressional representative for Texas’ 19th district.
