Jodey Arrington, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 19th district since 2017, shared his views and support for local issues and sports on social media. Arrington, who replaced Randy Neugebauer in Congress, is a Texas Tech University alumnus born in Plainview, Texas.

On June 5, 2025, Arrington expressed his opinion on the decrease in fentanyl trafficking during the Trump administration. He commented that “there’s nothing mysterious about fentanyl trafficking dropping under the Trump administration. It’s called enforcing the law and securing the border.”

Later that day, Arrington spoke to celebrate the achievements of a group from West Texas. He mentioned “a remarkable group of young women from the plains of West Texas who are making history on the national stage – our Texas Tech Lady Raiders softball team.” He noted that all of West Texas supports them.

The following day, on June 6, he encouraged further success for the Texas Tech Lady Raiders softball team with enthusiasm by stating “Beat ‘em once, beat ‘em twice. A Texas Tech natty would be nice. LET’S GO @texastechSB!!!”

Arrington currently resides in Lubbock and graduated from Texas Tech University with a BA in 1994.
