Today, House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington addressed the House floor before the final vote on H.R.1, known as the One Big Beautiful Bill.

Arrington stated that “this bill creates the right incentives for historic economic growth, makes unprecedented investments in our military and border security, and implements the largest spending reduction in history—by two-fold—alongside other generational fiscal reforms.” He emphasized that America’s economic strength is crucial for global leadership and prosperity but noted a decline over recent years.

To counter this trend, Arrington highlighted that the bill includes “the largest tax cut in U.S. history,” drawing parallels to previous tax cuts under President Trump. He anticipates outcomes such as “record job growth, investment, repatriation of capital back to the United States, record-low unemployment, record-high wage growth, and the lowest poverty rates in recorded history.”

Additionally, Arrington mentioned provisions within the bill aimed at enhancing military capabilities and law enforcement to safeguard national sovereignty and border security. He acknowledged ongoing challenges related to government spending but expressed confidence that H.R.1 would contribute significantly to making America “Safe, Strong, and Prosperous Once Again.”

Arrington concluded by expressing his hope for a better future for upcoming generations like his daughter Jane.
