Dustin Burrows, a Republican member of the Texas House representing the 83rd district since 2015, recently shared several updates on his official Twitter account regarding legislative developments and commemorations.
On August 2, 2025, Burrows highlighted legislative actions in Amarillo involving Governor Greg Abbott. He stated, “Great day in Amarillo yesterday as Governor @GregAbbott_TX signed two important bills to protect Texas kids — HB 1481 for phone-free classrooms and SB 2420, the App Store Accountability Act. Grateful to Rep. @FairlyForTexas for leading the charge in delivering these huge wins for https://t.co/sIaRP93KoT”.
The following day, August 3, Burrows marked the anniversary of a significant tragedy in Texas history. He wrote, “Six years ago today, Texas was shaken by the horrific tragedy in El Paso. Twenty-three innocent lives were taken, dozens more injured, and countless families forever changed.
We will never forget the victims, their loved ones, and the entire El Paso community. Today, we honor”.
Later on August 3, Burrows commented on upcoming proceedings within the Texas House: “The Texas House will be convening at 3:00pm tomorrow. If a quorum is not present then, to borrow the recent talking points from some of my Democrat colleagues, all options will be on the table. . .”.
Burrows has served as a state representative since his election in 2015 when he succeeded Charles Perry as representative of District 83.
