House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington of Texas’s 19th district commented on the Supreme Court’s decision in Perdomo v. Noem, which allows the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to continue removing dangerous criminal aliens from communities.

“Today’s Supreme Court decision is a critical victory for law and order and the safety of the American people,” said Chairman Arrington. “Federal immigration laws exist for a reason, and those who come to our country illegally must be held accountable. This ruling ensures DHS can continue enforcing the law without unnecessary legal roadblocks, keeps dangerous criminals off our streets, and protects communities.”

The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 in favor of reinforcing federal authority to enforce immigration laws as established by Congress.

Arrington has served as U.S. Representative since 2016, having won multiple elections against various opponents. In 2024, he defeated Nathan Lewis with over 80% of the vote; similar margins were seen in previous elections in 2022, 2020, 2018, and 2016.
