House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) has released a statement following the death of Charlie Kirk. Arrington described the incident as “horribly sad and deeply disturbing.” He added, “He wasn’t just a fearless advocate for faith, family, and freedom, but, most importantly, a devoted husband, father, and son. Please join me in praying for Charlie’s family.”

Arrington currently serves as chairman of the House Budget Committee. In recent years, he has maintained his seat by defeating several challengers in general elections. In 2024, he won against Nathan Lewis with over 80% of the vote. He also defeated Lewis in 2022 with a similar margin. Earlier victories include wins over Tom Watson in 2020 and Miguel Levario in 2018.
