Arrington honors Texas Tech Chancellor Tedd Mitchell upon retirement

Today, House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington delivered remarks on the House floor to honor Dr. Tedd Mitchell, Chancellor of the Texas Tech University System, who is retiring after 15 years of service. Arrington praised Mitchell for his dedication to Red Raider Nation and highlighted his leadership in bringing growth and educational excellence to the university system.

Arrington expressed his personal connection with Mitchell, stating, “I’m honored to have worked with Chancellor Mitchell over the years and proud to call him and his wonderful wife, Janet, dear friends.” He also conveyed confidence in the team of regents chaired by Cody Campbell to find a successor but acknowledged that they will have “big shoes to fill.”

In closing, Arrington congratulated Mitchell: “Congratulation, Ted. On behalf of the people of West Texas, thank you for bearing our banner far and wide and modeling what it means to be a true fearless champion.”
